On 26 April, Bettina Jarasch opened the kick-off event for the first Berlin Climate Citizens' Council. 100 Berliners were randomly drawn to discuss climate issues in the areas of mobility, housing and energy. On 30th of June 2022, the jointly developed recommendations for action will be handed over to the Berlin Senate Department for the Environment, Mobility, Consumer and Climate Protection. The climate crisis is becoming more and more noticeable every year and Berlin must become climate neutral as quickly as possible. It is about time that citizens get more opportunities to actively participate in decision-making about the future!
